Ultraspeed win Innovation in Medium Datacentre Award! 13 December 2007

Ultraspeed, the managed hosting arm of the Ultraspeed Group, won The Award for Innovation in the Medium Datacentre, out of two nominations received in the Datacentre Awards 2007.

The award was specifically for the Diskless Server and DC Power project, this takes managed hosting to a whole new level by removing hard drives from each server, and using DC power – thereby reducing power consumption by 50% over a traditional disk/AC power based managed server.

Ultraspeed were pitted against Norwich Union, Telecity Group and University College Dublin in winning this award – the team have vowed to be back next year for more awards!

  • Project Excellence. Business-to-Business Project Award
  • Project Excellence. BT Flagship Award for innovation

Ultraspeed also has two nominations in the Datacentre Awards 2007

  • The ‘Green’ Datacentre Award

Ultraspeed and Hostroute merge to offer premium and shared managed hosting under one roof 23 October 2007

Dedicated hosting solutions provider Ultraspeed UK Ltd (Ultraspeed) today announced the completion of its merger with Hostroute.com Ltd (Hostroute), the UK based provider of shared hosting solutions to the small business and consumer market. The share swap deal sees the combined company hosting in excess of 50,000 websites across Europe and North America.

Jordan Gross, formerly commercial director at Ultraspeed UK Ltd takes on the role of Managing Director of the new Ultraspeed Group with Gordon Hudson, formerly Managing Director at Hostroute also joining the new board and taking on executive responsibility as Marketing Director. Both the Ultraspeed and Hostroute brands will be retained going forward.
