Managed Cloud Platform / Ultraspeed On Cloud
There is great variety between cloud platforms, but the industry buzzwording around 'cloud' often neglects to describe any of the particular features or benefits of different cloud platforms. This page is devoted to describing specifically how Ultraspeed deploys its cloud computing products on its own Managed Cloud platform.
Cloud Explained
Ultraspeed's managed hosting solutions run on a Managed Cloud platform that has been designed and built by Ultraspeed's Systems Engineering Team to be adaptable for any clients unique needs.
The word 'cloud' has become synonymous in the IT industry with virtualisation technology, on-demand services, and outsourced hosting/IT.
To paraphrase the NIST:
Cloud computing is a model enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable resources.
Cloud computing can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) identify three ways of using cloud:
1. Infrastructure
Using cloud infrastructure as a service: Enables the client to manage and control their own infrastructure of operating systems, storage applications, and firewalls, based on an underlying cloud architecture managed and controlled by the provider (operating systems/storage/appplications/firewalls etc.
2. Software
Using cloud software as a service: Enables the client to use the provider's applications but not manage or control the underlying cloud architecture.
3. Platform
Using the cloud platform as a service: Enables the client to deploy their own applications onto the provider's cloud architecture. The client does not manage or control the underlying cloud architecture.
Ultraspeed's Cloud
Ultraspeed's Managed Cloud platform supports Simple (entry-level solution) and Infrastructure (a more comprehensive solution) - two examples of the cloud-infrastructure-as-service model.
Engineers can deploy and manage clients' infrastructure remotely, meaning more control, extra flexibility, and a more efficient utilization rate that leaves room to scale up when needed.
In addition, Ultraspeed manage and maintain the underlying cloud architecture, offering a 24/7/365 client support service for clients who want to help or need any problems corrected, or hardware replaced. The Systems Engineering Team also provide expert advice and recommendation, and most importantly ensure a secure environment for the client. These are the main elements of Managed Hosting as seen by Ultraspeed.
