Managed Hosting / Software
Ultraspeed Systems Engineers are experts at diagnosing and fixing basic and complex faults, delivering 24/7/365 support and operating system maintenance.
All new operating systems go through extensive testing before being deployed into live environments.
about Operating Systems...
Ultraspeed have chosen Linux CentOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems to use within its managed hosting environments, among a variety of other applications.
CentOS is one of the leading open source Linux distributions, designed for enterprise and server environments that require solid stability and security. Ultraspeed deploys both 32- and 64-bit versions, to satisfy different client requirements.
Ultraspeed mainly offers Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 Server Editions, with some variations. For example, due to its impressive security and scalability Windows Server Edition is typically deployed for enterprise use.
Ultraspeed also provide managed hosting environments to clients that are mixed modal, ie have a mixture of CentOS and Windows servers.
Standard Applications
Ultraspeed Engineers are experts in advanced configurations of both MySQL (the leading open source database server) and MS SQL (the leading commercial database server). IIS is typically deployed on Windows, Apache on Linux, and a wide variety of modules are also integrated; typical examples are .NET on Windows and PHP/Ruby/Java on Linux.
Ultraspeed advises on how to fit maintenance interfaces (such as cPanel) with applications and tools. cPanel is a web-based interface which can be useful for controlling a number of websites deployed on a single virtual or physical server. Ultraspeed Engineers are fluent in the installation, configuration, operation and fault resolution of a number of programs such as cPanel. Ultraspeed also uses Exim for email requirements on Linux platforms.
Third-party Applications
Although Ultraspeed do not directly support or guarantee the performance of third-party applications, Ultraspeed Systems Engineers can construct and maintain managed environments that support a diverse range of applications, debug third-party applications, and give feedback to a client's developers.
If Ultraspeed believes that a particular application is not suitable for use within a managed hosting environment, the client will always be suggested alternatives, so that they are left in a strong position to go forward.
